Montreal

The bane of my existence.... alright, not really, but I did have some bad luck in this city. Well, let me tell you the good points first. There's a neat old part of town with a beautiful Bascillica. Hey, and there's a Hard Rock Cafe here too! :) Haha, I'm sure there's more, but, well... anyway. But really, I think there's a lot that I missed in this city... much more to be explored when your stop isn't just on a whim and you have more time!

How it can take 2 hours to get out of a city is beyond me! I neglected to get a map of Montreal before I left home, and the one we picked up at the Quebec visitor's center was a bus route map, not showing all the one way streets. Yeah, so it took a bit of time to find the Bascillica, and then it took more time to find the Hard Rock Cafe for a t-shirt, and then we never did find the casino we wanted to go to. And THEN, well, police started blocking off random streets, streets were one-way, detours all over the place, and street signs in French, so, well... it took awhile to get out. With the help of my GPS we somehow figured a way out. I suppose I could have been better prepared, and I suppose I could have asked someone (even though I don't speak French), but I'm much too stubborn for that! :)
