I am biased to Chicago... it will forever be my favorite "big city." :-) However, NYC has definitely grown on me, and I think the key to enjoying this city is to just wander and explore, as opposed to doing what I did the first time, which was trying to see all of the important sites.

I'll spare you the typical rundown on what there is to do in NYC, since I'm sure it's a fairly prolific bit of information. At any rate, what's nice about New York is the amount of activities you have to choose from; in particular, think about the cultural activities, the restaurants, the exploring of neighborhoods, the shopping, as well as the general people watching and enjoying yourself. I think in some respects, NYC is best done with more than one person, especially if the other people like to explore too.
