Corner of Nassau and Witherspoon

Overview

Princeton, NJ, is home to Princeton University, which I believe is the 4th oldest university in the U.S. It's a beautiful campus situated halfway between New York and Philadelphia, and it happens to be pretty small, with only 6000+ students overall (small to me, coming from Purdue). I'm sure many people have seen Beautiful Mind and know of Albert Einstein, both associated with this place. The movie, I.Q., also shows a lot of scenes of the area.

The area near campus, which is essentially Nassau Street, Palmer Square, and Witherspoon, has quaint, almost colonial-looking buildings, with all sorts of upscale shops and places to eat and get coffee.
Springtime

Region

Nearby you'll also find the Institute for Advanced Studies, a big think-tank, that has some beautiful grounds. Albert Einstein's house at 112 Mercer can be seen from the outside. The Canal, Lake Carnegie, and parklands in the area also make it a really nice place.

Historical Significance

Princeton also happens to have historic significance, being the halfway point between Philadelphia and New York. The Continental Congress met here. Also, nearby Princeton Battlefield is where the next battle, after George Washington crossed the Delaware and defeated the Hessians, occured. Hopefully I don't have my facts wrong.
