My visit to Japan was extremely brief and hardly worth a placement on here, but so be it. We landed for an overnight layover outside of Tokyo in Narita (Narita International Airport). Here we were able to at least go into town ("town" being the small ville of Narita) for some dinner. I was quite impressed with the food... I had a sort of prawn and noodle dish, but for the life of me I don't know the name of the dish nor the restaurant. Regardless, excellent food. Japan is pretty unique from what I could tell, but on the other hand it seems incredibly American at the same time (or maybe we Americans have just been Japanized ;)). Taxi drivers wore white gloves, there were soy drink vending machines all over the place, and hardly anyone spoke a word of English (which I found surprising considering a number of people spoke English in China). Anyway, seems like a neat (yet expensive) country where I would love to spend more time.
