D.C.

by dzni - last update: Sep 8, 2002

Capitol of my favorite country and yours, Washington, D.C.! D.C. is actually a very unique city from what I could tell. Hundreds of government buildings line the streets in a large area surrounding the capitol and the White House. There are so many monuments, museums, and landmarks to see that I couldn't imagine being able to see everything in one day. A short list of things to see: Capitol building, White House, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Smithsonian, Declaration of Independence/Constitution, Holocaust Museum, etc.... the list goes on I am sure, but these are some places that came to mind for me. I'm sure if you go to Washington, you'll discover your own list of things to see, perhaps less famous than the ones I mentioned.

In terms of cleanliness, D.C. seemed to be very clean considering all the people who travel through this district all of the time. Mind you, I did not visit any area in D.C. other than the "Capitol Area." Likewise, ride the subway if at all possible. It is impeccably clean and lacks any of the horridness of the New York City subways.
