Crêpe is a specialty from Brittany (Bretagne). It looks like a very thin (and sometimes crispy) american pancake with salty (ham, cheese, mushrooms etc) or sweet fillings (chocolate, sugar, coco etc.)

Favorite Dish: Une complète (ham, egg and cheese crêpe)
Sweet crêpe : chocolate sauce with coco and a scoop of vanilla ice cream !
    ;)

This is a small ethiopian restaurant. The variety of dishes are not that large but it's interesting to taste new cuisine.
The owner of this restaurant is very kind. He will make sure that we know how to eat the food properly(with your hands !)
The restaurant is tiny but the atmosphere is good and friendly.

Favorite Dish: I went there with a couple of friends and had a bit of everything... The fish stew is good although a bit spicy for me.

It has become a new trend in Paris : having a brunch on Sundays. It is a good idea. After a brunch, you can walk around Ile Saint Louis or eventually walk to Notre Dame on Ile de la Cité.

La Fourmi Aile: Cozy cafe "La Fourmi Ailee"

Cafes in France are usually pretty impersonal and the decoration is cold. La Fourmi Ailee on the other hand is very welcoming : it has such a cozy and friendly ambiance. Walls are packed with books and paintings. There is even a fire in the chimney in the cold parisian days...

La Fourmi Ailee is located next to Notre-Dame, which makes a nice break after visiting the area.

Favorite Dish: There is quite a large list of different teas. That is one of their specialty. Also, you can have lunch/dinner over there although their menu consists of a few dishes...

This is a traditionnal french bistro that has become a bit touristy due to the closeness to the Champs Elysees and thus the tourists. However, the food served is correct for the price : 15 euros for a 3 course dinner is almost difficult to find in that area. Portions might seem a bit small at first sight but once you've finished the dessert, you are full !

Favorite Dish: The carpaccio of salmon was nice. I had that as an entree. Then the main dish was a tartiflette (a specialty from the Alpes with lots of cheese) and a apple tart for the dessert.

This is one of the traditional French restaurants where the ambiance is very relaxed and friendly. The daily menus are written on a black board and changes, well, daily so the food is really fresh.

This kind of restaurants / bistro are becoming rare these days and I truly enjoy the traditional french way and the family-like service.

Favorite Dish: The daily lunch is around 30 euros in July 2004.

We just moved to Paris, found this place to be really friendly and sweet -- with wonderful, inexpensive food - and the owner always has jazz on the radio in the background. Highly recommended. We're taking friends there in the snow tonight (5 Jan 2008).
