A world without borders...

by Lemonita - last update: Sep 11, 2005

My new hobby : PARAGLIDING !!!

Just picked up this sport at the beginning of this year as I was looking for something new and exciting to do, something for which I will spend a fair amount of time learning each week.
I am happy ever since I've started learning paragliding even though sometimes it gets quite tough and demanding from a physical point of view. Indeed, the site where I'm taking lessons is on a small hill, which means that every time I flew down, I have to go up hill (20 mins with a bagpack of around 15 kgs). And I did that 5 times in one day...

However tough that was, it is completely worthwhile. Paragliding gives me an indescribable feeling of freedom and happiness. You see the world from a different angle, you also get to "feel" the world... So great !!!

I'm having much fun when I'm looking at other VT members' pages. Especially the places I dream of going to or back to such as Peru, Silk Road, Sweden, Vietnam, Australia... Or discovering new places I have never thought of going... I have to say that sometimes I just feel so frustrated from reading those pages of other Vters about their great holidays and experience abroad. I'm stuck home right now because got no money ! :o(

MADE IN HONG KONG

This is probably the place where I feel the most at home. Grew up in this jungle of skycrappers...
There are so many adequate adjectives to describe Hong Kong : dynamic, exciting, beautiful, authentic, international, crowded etc... All of the people I know that have visited have all loved this city, located in South-East of China.

The name "Hong Kong" means "fragrant harbor" in Cantonese, one of the most widely spoken chinese dialect in the world. If you do visit, make sure you go to the Peak or Tsim Sha Tsui to admire the unforgettable view of Hong Kong's skyline. And at night, it turns out to be magic ! Simply breath-taking...

WHEN I FALL IN LOVE WITH...BEIJING

I spent a year in Beijing and I really loved my experience there. I just felt I have always lived there. It was like "back to the roots". I have read somewhere that the third generation of immigrants are curious about their origins and would like to find their roots, thus go back to the country where all their ascendants were raised and lived. This is true for me, I was interested in living in China. Beijing was just perfect : a city that is becoming modern yet keeping its historical and chinese side. Please have a look yourself by stopping by at my Beijing page . I think it's the most complete page I've built so far on VT.

DRAWN TO THE FRENCH CHARM

How can I not mention Paris, the French capital that welcomed and showed me such beautiful streets, impressive architecture and friendly people during 5 years ?
It's a place that will always have a special place in my heart. There is this unexplainable charm that keeps drawing me back to Paris ... Again and again... It's like I can't enough of it.
Not even after 5 years of living here. There is so much to see and discover. One can hardly get fed up with Paris. At least I don't... Well, I don't think it's necessary to describe this city, all that I can say is that it lives up to its reputation. Come and see it for yourself...
