Communities Vancouver Island

Victoria is on Vancouver Island and not to be confused with Vancouver city. It is the capital of our Province - British Columbia (BC for short)
First, you need to board one of the Ferries mainly the Tsawassen terminal located near Ladner/Delta and takes about 1.5 hours ride over.
You shall dock on Swartz bay ferry terminal then it's about 25-35mins into Victoria on the main Hwy.

Not to worry, the ferry have two restaurants and snack bars on board. Before Victoria, there's a seaside town, Sidney about 5 mins away from the ferry terminal. Quaint little town but worth a stop to relax if needed.

You shall enjoy the many things in this city and other towns and growing communities like Nanaimo,Duncan and perhaps by the beaches of Qualicum or Parksville.
Tofino on the West side of the island should not be missed nor the Gulf islands which are a stone's throw away from the city. Coincidentally, you have to take the ferry from Swartz bay terminal you had arrived on.

Butchart Gardens,Victoria

Not to be missed, visit this garden near Victoria on Saanichton. It's an old mine quarry turned into a gorgeous theme gardens: eg Italian,Japanese.....

In the summer till early fall, there are fireworks display in the evening.

The Innner harbour in Victoria is in the downtown core. The Parliament buildings,The Under Sea gardens, Empress Hotel, Wax Museum and the Royal City Museum, Chinatown are all close by.

• Pros:Lots to do here and easier parking than Vancouver.
