This special day, falling on the first Sunday of December every year marks the first day of the Christmas season in Williamsburg. 100s of thousands of people come from far and wide to take part in this celebration.
All the Christmas lights in Williamsburg are turned on, and a night of celebration and friendship ensues.
Fires burn all through the winter to keep interpretors and tourists alike warm. A pipeing hot cup of cider doesn't hurt either.
Just one of the historic houses that help to create this time machine of a town. You can rent many of these small houses as lodging to help immerse yourself in the history!

I liked the Kings Arms Tavern, must return for Cambell's Tavern. Love Williamsburg. Wld hesitate re Williamsburg Lodge, too discreet about Bayroom cuisine, on the web...If they've got it, they should flaunt it! Thanks for tips!

Lovely memories here of a wonderful family holiday in Virginia - Williamsburg was a highlight. We tried to leave the kids in the stocks but they made us take them home! cheers -leyle

I'm from Williamsburg, VA too, graduated in 2001. It's nice to see another townie take pride in the ol' burg.
Planning on a Christmas visit. We have some reservations but if you have any suggestions for that time, please write. Your pages are just what I needed.
