Sports Travel: Hunting and Fishing galore.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Theme: Other

There are plenty of places around New Zealand where you can partake in hunting and fishing. It's very much a part of rural NZ life, and is not frowned upon in the country.
People are sensible about this sport.
There are professional hunting and fishing guides in most of the prime areas.
The bush and back country of New Zealand needs to be highly respected because it may look "tame" however overnight the weather can change and become very dangerous and unforgiving.
Every year overseas visitors get into trouble in our bush and hills, for being ill prepared and lacking in warm clothes, food and other survival equipment.

Sports Travel: Bungy Jump at the home of all Bungy!!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Theme: Extreme Sports

    BUNGY!!!! - it's a description in itself!

Bungy jump over the local rivers, and get the thrill of your life.
Don't forget to empty your pockets first!!

See more photos taken at the new Kawarau Bungy Centre here.

Even if you don't jump there is plenty for you to do and see. If your companion is jumping you have a great view and can take photos yourself.

Can't wait til we visit your amazing country. Only have 2 weeks, so will be exploring the South Island, possibly with Off Beat tours...has anyone ever used them?

Regarding Ace Rental. Arrived at our pick-up location, advised that the car would have to be returned to that location and not as we had booked. resulting in forfeiting our prepaid flight to Auckland. I would never deal with Ace. Stay with Avis,Budget, etc.
