Step Back in Time.

I found Whittier to be a clean pleasant reprieve from the hussle and bussle of LA. Lots of trees, nestled under some nice rolling hills and with a main street out of the story books. The shops and many of the buildings have been preserved so well and provide a really pleasant place to stroll and see. It's not often you see an old cinema like this one preserved and still operational, just as it was back in time.

Beverly Blvd

Coming in to town on Beverly Blvd, you get a feeling it's a nice place with the rows of pinetrees alongside. It's very green around Whittier.

Uptown Farmers' Market

Whittier has an Uptown Farmers' Market every Friday morning in the street.

Pros and Cons

In a nutshell:Nice town nestled into the rolling hills not so far from downtown LA.

Great observations here ! Our passed over towns are often more enjoyable than the well known. They also give a better perspective of an average SoCAL native & neighborhood. I'm glad you had an open mind & got beyond the Sterotypes.
