Mount Cook National Park Travel Guide: 37 reviews and 157 photos

The mountain after which this park is named, is our tallest at 3754 metres, just a little over 12300ft.

Try to take a flight into the mountains, to view the peaks. It's well worth the money, especially if the day is a nice clear blue-sky day!
This photo was taken from a glider and that is an aircraft with no engine!
You have to go to Omarama to catch these flights.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:The beauty, the mountains, the colours, a photographers delight.
  • Cons:Not so easily accessible, and can be cold.
  • In a nutshell:The Alps of the South.

Sure that keeping to the left side all the time on a desert road can sometimes be a challenge for right drivers! Great place ! Mouthwatering page !
