Now called Hotel Mercure Resort Queenstown still located at Sainsbury Rd, Fernhill.
Comfortable, clean, friendly and what you would expect of a middle to up market hotel. The staff are willing to help and you enjoy a very pleasant rest here, it is not in the middle of town, so away from the noise of late nite revellers. This hotel is the lower priced of the group in Queenstown, but it is very nice all the same. In my opinion, it's views are superb and well worth the extra distance form town for. A Catchabus runs regularly to town and is very convenient. I did find however that the Frontdesk staff were very hard to understand. All were nonNationals and English was not their first language. I have no problem with this, but they seemed to speak so fast, we had to keep asking them to repeat what they said.
Unique Qualities: The mezzanine lounge is amazing, plenty of comfortable seats, lovely big fire. Dining Room has one wall completely glass with the lake and mountains in view - truly amazing. Just sitting there writing postcards and letters is a very enjoyable experience.

Unique Qualities: Just a few mins stroll to the Lake and to the centre of town. Very conveniently located. There is a range of accommodation from campsites to cabins, lodge rooms, to tourist flats. All very comfortable and reasonably priced. For a top tourist town, this has to be the place to stay, however you will need to book in advance. If you don't try anyway in case they have had a cancellation. Really nice setting with a lot of trees.

This sure is the campground with a view. Elevated up not far from the Skyline Gondola Terminal, this campground looks out over Lake Wakatipu. This is a Park of 9 acres and great facilities, especially the modern stylish utility building with Laundry, kitchen and ablutions. Lakeview is very close to town, just a couple of minutes' walk going downhill, and just a little longer returning uphill from town. This makes it a very convenient place to stay, with top class facilities. Quite unique for a resort town.
Unique Qualities: Great views over the lake and mountains. Plenty of room for vehicles. Staff can arrange babysitters, and do bookings for adventure activities. Internet, tv room and activities room. BBQs. Playground.
