Off The Beaten Path: Bed and breakfast in a (real) Pirate village
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is a place known as the (ex) pirate village of Tenerife. It is the village of Masca.
Here you can have a B & B loking over the supperb vallei of Masca. Real pure and untouched natural landscape. Unic in the world. And on top of it the price for a dubbel room for overnight is acceptabel. The place is held by a french lady who speaks fluwently spanish, english and german. Asking for Senora Jane Mineur, with the compliments of the Belgian botanist Leroy Albert

Off The Beaten Path: the end of the world !!! TENO ALTO
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Comming on this place means going back in the time !!! Here people live like 50years ago on the continent. You will only find a bar/bakery and on the other side of the place a small restaurant. Go into the bar and ask for half a liter wine. This wine is here localy made and has a very special tast, also you will have to tast the local goat chees, is very good and doesn't smell and tast like the goat chees we are used to have here by us. Even if you don't like goat chees by you at home, have this experiance and tast it here. On the plateau village are living about 40 people with more than 7000 goats!!! yeas you read well. For those who like kicking there is a very beautyfull path who brings you here, for those who hired a car the way is easy. Comming from the south you have to take the road to Masca or going imediatly to Buenavista del Norte. Take the way to El Palmar and then following the (small!!!) road to Teno Alto. Be carfull lot of turns in this road and not always a good visibility on what is going on in the other direction.
For those wanting to climb a littlebit , they have to follow from Buena Vista del Norte de way to Punta Teno, attention only by good weather!!, at the tomato plantage you will see on your righthand you have to stop and park the car. Here just past to the building on your left hand you will see the small mountain path who will bring you true the mountains to Teno Alto. The best is being with two cars so that one car is up in T. Alto and the other in Bajo so when arriving there up you can take the other car to pick-up the car on the start
