New Castle is about 10 minutes south of Wilmington, and worth a few hours to look around if you have time.

Historic section vs. the Strip Malls

When you drive through New Castle on your way to someplace else, it's easy to just see the ugly strip-mall section of town. However, if you have time, you should definitely make time to get to the Historic Section, because it's gorgeous! There are some nice shops, pubs, historic buildings, and the water front park area.

My husband's from Newcastle in England so he and I are always on the look out for other places with the same name. Your tips make this one sound very worth a visit if we're ever in the area - thank you :-)

Nice New Castle pages. I work in New Castle. I would suggest the Holiday Inn on Naamans Rd. for a nice stay. 15 minutes from Philadelphia too!
