If you are in town for ANZAC day, attend a Dawn Service. It is so moving; it doesn't matter what nationality you are. Everyone can relate to the memorial.
It takes place at Martin Place in downtown Sydney. It starts around 4am and lasts for about an hour. There are prayers, songs, speeches, moments of silence.
After the service, my friends and I walked to the Harbour to watch the sun come up over the water. It was a touching experience.
It was one of the best and most memorable things I did in my year in Sydney.
