Fairmount Royal York Hotel Formerly Canadian Pacific Royal York Hotel $175 CDN and upwards
Unique Qualities: This is definitely a regal place to stay. The Royal suite is often reserved for well... Royalty. This hotel is not your biggest bang for the buck location, however, if you're looking for atmosphere, situation, and style, this place is a good bet. Situated at Union Station, this hotel is great for exploring Toronto's harbourfront, club district, shopping areas, and so much more. You're certainly in the middle of it all. You can walk to the hockey hall of fame, to the theatre district, the basement is connected to our infamous PATH underground system. Having eaten at their restaurant as well, I can assure you that the food is excellent. The bar had a great duck and brie quesadilla, while the breakfast buffet was complete and very filling. The service is impeccable, and if one is familiar with the Fairmount Brand, then you'll know that this place is top class.

Remember we're talking basic ammenaties here, and you do share a bathroom, however, there is an in-room phone, breakfast café, and the location is in the heart of downtown. Single $37.95 CDN $27.11 USD Twin $54.46 CDN $38.90 USD Double $54.46 CDN $38.90 USD Triple $75.89 CDN $54.21 USD Family** $62.50 CDN $44.64 USD CDN - Canadian Dollars USD - US Dollars

Daily - $74.95 CDN single occupancy 3 or more days - $69.95 CDN single occupancy Weekly - $455.00 CDN single occcupancy Double Occupancy is slightly higher ($30.00/wk) One child under 12 is free NOTE: Rate does not reflect 12% room tax
Unique Qualities: If you're staying for more than a few days and you're looking for a place in downtown toronto with kitchen facilities, then this is a good place to start your search. I've personally stayed at the this hotel and it has all you need for apartment style living, including laundry facilities on site. It's not in the posh areas of Toronto, however it's great for site seeing, being just a hop away from Chinatown Main at Dundas and Spadina and minutes walk from Queen West. The prices aren't too shabby at all either. For single occupancy, it's $455 CDN a week (before Mid May) and believe me, that's a great rate in Toronto. Because of its proximity to Chinatown, there are loads of grocery stores that you can buy your food from and then cook it in your own room. The room comes with a mini fridge as well, so don't worry about food going bad.

A visit to Niagara Falls is a MUST! | sdf3 Tue Jun 15, 2004 05:17 UTC I'm sure it all has to do with those ads. If those Canadians weren't told they were Canadian every minute of each day. They'd probably forget. Those ares are a great service to Canada! | dinhyen Tue Apr 8, 2003 04:28 UTC Shouldn't the Hockey Hall of Fame be on the Must-see Activities list? :) | Pavlik_NL Fri Nov 22, 2002 11:29 UTC What's there more to tell.
