We were in Pakistan to enjoy the Karakoram Highway, which runs from Peshawar to Kashgar,in China. We spent several days in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.Enjoyed a sight seeing tour of the city, and our first look at the colourful buses, trucks, and taxis of this country. This great mosque, the Shah Faisal Mosque, cost US$6,000,000 to build. It's quite magificent, and we were able to go inside and pray, removing our shoes, of course, and covering our heads. We also went to Murree, in the hills, after we came back to Islamabad from kashgar. To enjoy a trip along the Karakoram Highway, from Islamabad to Kashgar, and back, please visit the PESHAWAR page. I hope you enjoy the journey. Jill |
