Riding on the Circumvesuviano...

I had the immense pleasure of staying in the great city of Napoli for a whole week and was able to explore its many surroundings. I decided to purchase the Campania Plus card because it offered a lot of great services and discounts for tourists. Little did I know that I would have a great many awesome experiences because of it. Sorrento was one of my many destinations from the circumvesuviano. I had a great experience upon leaving the station in Sorrento. I walked towards the centre of town and "sampled" some limoncello, creama di meloni, limon, fragola, etc... and by the time the sampling was over I had created quite an appetite. I was looking for something spicy, inexpensive and homey, so I stepped into a little caffe, whose name, unfortunately escapes me now. I went in wanting a pizza alla diavola but ended up having a two hour long conversations with the restaurant's owner. She is an Italian woman who had lived many year in Argentina and had a great many experiences to share. We talked over espresso after espresso and in that couple of hours, made my visit to Sorrento all the more important and worthwhile. Sure I purchased some pseudo Pashmina shawls, bottles of limoncello, crema di meloni, limoni, and fragola, tanned on some wooden planks that served as the beach, burt most importantly I had a rather intimate conversation that running the risk of sounding cliche and cheesy, really made a difference in establishing who I was and how I relate to people despite of nationality. You must remember that I am Mexican, living in the United States visiting European cities and that can be quite eye opening. I hold Sorrento close to my heart for that experience. You never know what will happen in Sorrento, and you never know what will happen when you go back again...

Pros:"Great views, shoppes, restaurants, sunbathing, and people watching."
Cons:"Steep cliffs you must trudge up and down off just to get to the beach. You must also pay for use of an elevator that makes the climbing"
In A Nutshell:"Expect to be moved in more ways than one!"
