A gang...

I've been to Malta on study - 2 weeks in English language school. My heart goes pit-a-pat each time I recall those memories. It was a holiday to remember.

I honestly tried to be a good student and to attend all the classes but night life is something you can not resist. It's twice harder to resist when you live together with 8 crazy students in one house and all of them are so much eager to go out every night and to have fun. So the host-family where I lived were really great and cordial people and they treated us as their own children that also meant letting us return late in the night, so they did not mind and always left an entrance door easy to open so we could get back home in mid night or even an early morning. The only requirement was not to be very noisy and not to laugh loudly ...so I must confess once we broke this rule, shame on us! So we were really lucky with our host family cause I heard from other students how strict rules at their homes were and they often had to listen to host's constant grumbling while being back late home.

Bamboo...

So, night life in Sliema is really awesome and there are so many bars and discos to keep all tastes happy. The funny thing about Malta is that you never really can see where one town/village ends and the border of another one starts. We lived in Sliema (at least the actual address pointed to that) but in 15 minutes walk there was Saint Julians, the land of night clubs, discos and bars - a dream world of all student universe. "Bamboo" was our favorite place to gather. I have so many memories about that bar... once I used to dance on a bar table with "Mamboo #5" playing, which was the hit song of that summer 1999, another day I fell down on a dance floor and dislocated my ankle-bone so on the next morning I could not walk and thought I broke my leg...that was a nightmare!

Sisters!

I've met so many different people there, students from other countries and I still keep in touch with some of them. But there is only one person whom I can proudly call a true friend of mine. Veronika...My Norwegian sister...
She is the same blond as I am and we often went out together and once someone wondered if we were sisters. So we liked that bright idea and since then we have been calling each sisters:)

We have been in touch since we met in Malta in 1999 and we always wanted to see each other again, but there were always some other plans that kept us busy. But this year in June we made it happen! We met in Stockholm - the mid way between Norway where she lives and Russia where I am from. And that is another story to remember!
