Have you ever heard of this state? Chances are you haven't heard of it, and maybe you don't know much about it. If someone asked you what state Frankfurt am Main was in, you might answer "Germany". Sorry, Germany is a country and not a state. Maybe some of you might answer "Bavaria". Wrong again! Frankfurt am Main is in the state of Hesse. Frankfurt am Main is the largest city in Hesse, which might lead you to believe it's the capital city. Wrong, again! The capital is Wiesbaden. This travel page is dedicated to all of you who got the answers wrong above. It's a general page with background information about the State of Hesse. This is why I won't include hotels and restaurants. Please refer to any of the interesting towns or cities you find on this page for more detailed information. Sorry, but if I duplicated all the restaurant and hotel tips on this page that I already have on other more detailed pages, I don't think the webmaster would like it.
