Storyeum, Vancouver!
This museum with a difference has only recently opened up is is worth a visit.
Storyeum is a theatrical presentation of British Columbia's history. You are taken in one of the world's largest passenger lifts into an underground theatre for a 72 minute guided tour through a series of plays that enact the history of British Columbia.
It is not cheap, especially if you are paying for a family but the experience is worth it.
The Storyeum venue is open from 10:30am to 8:00pm every day including holidays.

Beautiful Lynn Canyon
Instead of paying the extortionate price at Capilano, I would suggest Lynn Canyon instead. It too has a suspension bridge, not as high as capilano but just as scary to walk along! There is also no admission charge.
To get to:
By Car:
From Highway 1 (Trans-Canada) take the
Lynn Valley Rd. or Mountain Hwy. exit.
From Lynn Valley Rd. turn right onto Peters Rd.
This will take you to the Park Drive.
By Public Transit:
From Vancouver, take the Sea Bus to Lonsdale Quay.
Take the #228 or #229 bus from there.
(#229 does not run Sundays or Holidays).
Ask the bus driver for the stop closest to the park.
From Phibbs Exchange in North Vancouver,
take the #229 bus.
Address: Lynn Valley Rd, North Vancouver

Gassy Jack the founder!
This is where downtown Vancouver began. A young Englishman by the name of John Deighton, a sailor, gold miner and riverboat pilot bought a pub, the Globe Saloon in New Westminster. Through this pub he became known as Gassy Jack because he always loved to talk of his adventures. He lost this pub but made his way , by canoe with his Indian wife down to the Burrard Inlet in 1867. Thanks to the thirsty workers at the Stamps Mill, Gassy Jack opened a new saloon at what is now the junction of Water and Carrall streets and named it the Globe after his previous saloon. By 1870 the area around the saloon was now named the townsite of Granville and because of new town planning Jack had to move his business. So he bought property nearest to his saloon and built a much better place that he named the Deighton Hotel.
Although the township was officially called Granville, unofficially it was know as Gastown.
In 1875 at the young age of 44 Gassy Jack passed away but even after the great fire of 1886 which consumed Gastown and the Deighton Hotel the memory of Gassy Jack Deighton remains as does the name Gastown.
Directions: Gastown
Lions Gate Bridge
Whenever you leave vancouver by road heading north you must always take the Lions Gate Bridge which exits Vancouver from Stanley Park. Quite an impressive bridge but cannot deal with the overload of traffic. The views from the bridge a quite something!!
The Steam Clock, Gastown, Vancouver.
This is the most touristy street in the city and is lined with restaurants and gift shops, also the odd night club too! This was also the original city centre in the days of Gassy Jack Deighton the founder of Gastown!
Things to see are the statue of Gassy Jack and also the Steam Clock.
Directions: North-east corner of downtown Vancouver, along Water Street in
Beluga
The aquarium no longer has the Orca or Killer Whales so the Belugas are now the top attraction, but I fear they may soon be gone too!
Directions: Located in Stanley Park

Vancouver Art Gallery
For some this may be of no interest whatsoever , however to us vters being cultured people and so forth, I will share this must see with you all! I rarely visit a city without checking out an art gallery or three! Vancouver has a wonderful permanent exhibition of one of my favourites Emily Carr. Carr was a local artist born in Victoria, B.C. in 1871and for me her work was way ahead of it's time.
Any way check it it out for yourselves.

Granville Island Brewery
As you enter Granville Island to your right you can't miss the Brewery. For a fee you can have a tour of the Brewery and sample some of the brews they make.

Totem Poles in Stanley Park
After a visit to the Aquarium it is worth taking a walk around the park. I believe the walk is a pprox. 10km so be prepared. The Park has some beautiful gardens and offers excellent views of the city.
Address: West end of Georgia Street, Vancouver
A superb indoor market
It is quite easy to spend a day at Granville Island. As well as a number of craft stores dotted around there is a superb indoor market and a food court where good quality inexpensive International cuisine can be bought from fish and chips to tacos!
There are a couple of pubs and also a theatre which also has a very good bar.
Directions: At the foot of the Granville street bridge.
