Name of Shop: The Shop at the Eastside gallery
Next to the eastside gallery are a couple of souvenir shops. The prices are not too bad. Bring your passport here too and you can get a stamp from Checkpoint Charlie dated from the day the Wall came down. Cost 1euro.
What To Buy: Best buys would be a stamp from Checkpoint Charlie dated the day the wall came down. Cost 1 euro, used to be 1 dm but that is the joy of having the new currency! Also there are some interesting books to buy about Berlins history and the history of the wall etc.
What To Pay: Prices are about average.

Name of Shop: KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens)
The KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) is one of the largest department stores in Europe although in my opinion it is not quite Harrods! If there is something you want you will most probably find it here!
What To Buy: I always head for the upper floors which house the food and drink. There is a restaurant with views along the Ku'dam. There are also numbers of smaller eateries which cater for an upmarket taste! The seafood is top class and nothing quite like a plate of oysters and a nice chablis after a bit of shopping with the missus! Or perhaps lobster and a refreshing glass of Mumm?
What To Pay: You are probably looking at about 50euro for two.

What To Buy: A very good place to buy clothing and household. Also has a quality food and drink section offering some excellent wines.

Sells souvenirs relating to Berlin. Has very good book selection and also some specialities from the former GDR.
What To Buy: Has great selection of books on Berlin, post cards, posters, T-shirts and other souvenirs such as cuddly toys, fridge magnets glass wear and beer steins.
What To Pay: However much you like

This I believe was the first shopping centre in the city? Housed in this modern complex is an unusual water clock. also a variety of shops, restaurants and bars including the famous Irish bar.

Outside nearly every tourist attraction you will find street stalls selling mostly relics from the former GDR or Soviet Union. It is hard to tell whether or not they are genuine articles.
What To Buy: Former uniforms, military hats and medals of the GDR.

This is another of Germany's major department stores. In Berlin they are all situated in the eastern half of the city. A great place to shop with good selection of named products.
