ARRIVING IN VIENNA

My trip to Vienna.
I took the plane from Basel to Vienna (1h30).
The fast train CAT bring you from the airport (T2-Swiss) to the town center in 16 minutes (cost= 9 Euros).
The Hotel Arenbeg was at 10 minutes by foot; it is a nice and quiet hotel and the services are simple but good.
You have also internet in the hotel.

The transportation in Vienna are very good: clean and clear metro, reliable trams, good buses. They run from 5am to midnight. I used a 3-days Pass.

You must visit the 1st district (town center). The area is beautiful and elegant, they clean every buildings, but it is becoming touristy (globalization is in march into the European big cities) = more transactions = more profit !

AUSTRIA.
The Stock Market did nearly +50% in 2004! I had a dinner in the former Stock Exchange (Borse).
But the minimum wages are around 1100 Euros, and the retirment age is 68 now. it is becoming difficult for some Austrian, and people try not to consume, but they prefer to save more like in Germany or France.

HUNGARY (budapest)
After some days in Vienna, I took the train from West Banhof to Budapest Kereti (duration = 3 hours).

MUSEUMS AND CAFES = VIENNA

There are cafes everywhere in Vienna; it is very good because sometimes, it rains or snows....
if you want to look more Austrian, you must have a nice clothe and stay in a cafe, drinking some cafe or hot chocolate, with cakes.....
