CHEAPEST WAY to PARIS FROM CDG AIRPORT

- First buy 10 tickets of Metro for less than 10 Euros at the RATP desk (near the bus stop), then go to Roissy Pole (Fast Free navette), Terminal T2.
- Take the bus 351 to NATION or bus 350 to GARE DE L'EST (3 tickets of metro), it lasts nearly 90 minutes from Nation to CDG T1 or T2 or RER station.
- or Take the Roissy Bus (10 Euros), from OPERA, Invalides or Porte MAILLOT (75 mn)
- or Take the train RER from GARE du NORD or CHATELET or ST MICHEL (time: 45 minutes)
- or Take the Taxi (around 50 Euros): time is depending of the traffic (30-90 mn)

Take the bus 285 or bus 183, only one tocket.

METRO or BUS ?
The METRO is a good way to travel in Paris, but the bus is better is you want to see PARIS for one ticket only : take bus 80 or 69. Buy tickets by 10, it's cheaper, and you could use them for BUS 351, 285, funicular (Montmartre)...
You can buy also a ticket unlimited pass (PARIS VISIT) for 1, 2 or 3 days. this ticket can give some discount for museums.

it is like in Manhattan and all big cities (LONDON) , trafic is bad in some areas, and parking is not easy (the worse was London then Manhattan). Parking is better and cheaper during the wee.

Taxis:
Taxis can be hailed at airports, stations and at taxi ranks (arrêts taxis) but can be hard to find, especially when most in demand - Friday and Saturday nights. A yellow light displayed on the roof shows that the taxi is available for hire; an orange light shows the taxi is in use.

A daytime journey in central Paris tends to cost FFr40-FFr80/EUR6-10 (tariff A). Journeys after 1900, on Sundays, bank holidays and in the suburbs are more expensive (tariff B). The most expensive rate (tariff C) applies for the suburbs and airports at night and districts outside Paris during the day. There are additional charges for pick-up (about FFr13/EUR2), pick-up at a mainline station (FFr5/EUR0.80), waiting time (about FFr135/EUR20.50 an hour), a fourth passenger (FFr10/EUR1.50 but always ask the driver first) and for luggage (FFr6/EUR0.90 per item over 5kg).

Tipping is not compulsory but drivers expect about 10%.
