Orem has a population of about 85,000 and an area of approximately 18.5 square miles. It is located in Utah County, 40 miles south of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake International Airport. There is four major on/off interchanges to Interstate 15 which runs North and South. The Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains forms Orem's eastern boundary. Utah Lake (the State's largest freshwater lake) forms Orem's western boundary. Environment includes all 4 seasons with local outdoor activities during each one. Orem is home of the national Timpanogos Storytelling Festival (as the sign indicates) and Utah Valley State College. Orem is neighbor to Brigham Young University (BYU) located in Provo and nearby entertainment include Sundance Resort 20 minutes up Provo Canyon, NBA Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City, and the Wasatch Front. |
