Yarm on Tees is a small town 8 miles east of Darlington.It is a very busy place with many shops , pubs & a great footpath along the river Tees.
Yarm was originaly the main port on the river Tees,handling everything from corn,flour,cheese ,butter and bacon.Vessels up to 60 tons managed the difficult journey up the river to Yarm.
Yarm's role as a port declined in the 18th century when Stockton on Tees developed.

The waterfront has recently been rebuilt & is now a great place for a stroll along the river.
