Whangaparaoa is just a 1/2 hour drive north of Auckland. Filled with beaches, the summer is a wonderful time to visit. All types of water sport are catered for. From wind and kite surfing to Jet Ski-ing and boating. Fishing, bathing in the clear waters and soaking up the sun are also popular.
Shakespear Park has several walks (bush and pasture) plus a campground and a Youth Hostel.
For something a bit different try the minuture railway.

Whangaparoa is surrounded by beautiful beaches. Swim, soak up the sun or do some rockhopping on any of them. more travel advice
