I just returned from the 31st NANA Annual Shareholder Meeting held in Kotzebue, AK. This was a 3 day event where shareholders of the corporation met in Kotzebue. I am an Inupiat Eskimo and this was my first time experiencing this event. Kotzebue is the hub of 11 surrounding villages and hosted this years meeting, there are over 10,000 NANA Shareholders.

Sadly, Arctic Blues closed in 2007 or 2006. You can still get an espresso in town at the EZ Market across from AC Co.

The NANA shareholder meeting looks like fun. I like Asian food so the Empress Restaurant tip was very helpful. Are fermented turnips with jalapenos similar to radish khimchee with red chile? Korean food is one of my favorites.

Fortunately for me the day I was in Kotzebue was sunny and warm. One day I hope to experience the arctic in winter.
