Homer Sandspit

August 8th and were just catching the last of the sunshine months of summer in Alaska. My daughter and I decided to play tourists in our own state and stop along the Sterling Hwy all the way to Homer. It was a fabulous day, but as you can see there is still snow and glaciers in the mtns behind us. The sun is up til 10:30 now and we are losing 3 - 5 minutes of daylight.

Wow, another connection to mountains in Bolivia. Mount Illimani is the big mountain overlooking La Paz. Illiamna seems too similar to be a coincidence. There must be a link between the cultures.

Thanks for rekindling my memories... thank God we took the time to drive down to Homer. One of the most scenic over- looks of any town has to be looking down on the town of Homer, the "spit" , the bay and all the mountains on the other side!!! Ferd

Beautiful photos of mother and daughter. And why not be a tourist in your own state? Alaska is bigger than most countries.
