Warnings Or Dangers: It's not too hard to be politically correct...
  • Tip Rating:
  • See my intro-don't call a Welsh person, Scots person or Irish person-British or English. They are not. If you are driving in the countryside, you might encounter unfenced animals in the roadway. Be patient and enjoy the scenery. Don't try to run them or the local farmer over-doesn't make for good international relations :-).

  • We were visiting 2 adorable little villages in the Cotswolds, Upper and Lower Slaughter when we saw this sign. My husband insisted taking a picture of it because of the graphic steaming pile of dog poo. Be warned you will be prosecuted for unwanted dog feces!!!

Glad to see someone took the time to see some of the hidden treasures of my home land. Nice pictures. I agree about the rental car even though it is horrifying to drive on those tiny roads. I recommned an automatic rather than stick shift for non-natives.

A nice mix on this page - a heat wave in the Uk doesn't come along often

I'm Scottish and have no problem with being called British. Scots are proud of being British. Other than that, excellent guide to the UK.

Hi Sue, Great tour. When I visited England I sort of limited myself to London, York and Edinburgh. I think I missed a lot by not getting out into the countryside. Guess I'll just have do it all over again ;-) ...Tom
