Great Britain is kind of like this woolly sheep-big but not too big and full of all sorts of surprises that you don't see until you look up close. The UK is comprised of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. VT really should have the four of them listed separately because they are 4 distinct countries that share a similar language, though in some places, even that is doubtful. One would never call a Scotsman or a Welsh person, British. Unless one would enjoy having their pint poured over their head. So much to see & do here and I speak the language. Explains the multiple trips. And the fact that is often cheaper for me to fly to London than it is to fly similar distances in the USA. |

kcbrit Tue Oct 25, 2005 20:48 UTC Glad to see someone took the time to see some of the hidden treasures of my home land. Nice pictures. I agree about the rental car even though it is horrifying to drive on those tiny roads. I recommned an automatic rather than stick shift for non-natives. | scottishvisitor Tue May 3, 2005 17:19 UTC A nice mix on this page - a heat wave in the Uk doesn't come along often | Brad05 Sun Feb 27, 2005 05:32 UTC I'm Scottish and have no problem with being called British. Scots are proud of being British. Other than that, excellent guide to the UK. | tpal Thu Jan 20, 2005 14:50 UTC Hi Sue, Great tour. When I visited England I sort of limited myself to London, York and Edinburgh. I think I missed a lot by not getting out into the countryside. Guess I'll just have do it all over again ;-) ...Tom |
