"Hollywood-not for the faint-hearted!" Hollywood by feline01

The only time I visited this seaside town, located south of Fort Lauterdale and north of Miami was to take a gambling cruise out into the Atlantic (Ocean) with my mom and my then boyfriend (now husband). I'm not a gambler but the boat was cheap and we thought it would be a nice afternoon excursion. Now the story gets a bit disgusting. There was probably about 50-75 passengers on the ship, averaging around 70 years old+. Mostly everyone began playing the slot machines and enjoying themselves. However, after passing through the rather tranquil InterCoastal Waterway, we soon hit real ocean. And the sea tossed that ship around like it was a toy boat. Chris and I were not bothered at all by seasickness but everyone else sure was. There were people reguritating all over the ship. At one point, I was standing with Chris outside and an old lady came through the doorway and handed me a plastic bag of vomit. Her daughter then tells her that I'm not an employee and she takes the vomit bag back. Now who would even think of handing a complete stranger a bag of your own vomit, even someone who worked on the boat??? Anyway, Chris and I ended up being the only 2 people able to walk around and handle standing in front of any casino games. We won a hundred dollars and had a pretty decent time. My mom could not say the same-she was one of the sick ones. Hollywood appeared to have a nice beach but I didn't see much else to tempt me. But if you ever want to chance the gambling cruise, just make sure to bring some Dramamine or at least carry your own vomit bag!!
