I had to do the 17-mile drive so my husband, Chris and I drove down from San Francisco for the day passing through Castroville along the way. We stopped to have lunch before driving down Ocean Avenue. Now, my husband learned to drive on the streets of New York City so he can be considered an assertive driver. Everyone had pulled over on Ocean Boulevard in downtown Carmel to let an ambulance pass. Once it had passed, Chris pulled back into the street and start to proceed. Well, some blonde California dude with his blonde California dude buddy and their 2 blonde California dudettes were quite miffed that Chris did not wait until they decided to pull back out again. This dude starts yelling out of his convertible, "What are you doooooing?". He said this 4 times while Chris and I just laughed. Where I come from, if you're pissed off at another driver, you give them the middle finger or curse them off. This was our first California culture shock and it was funny (maybe you had to be there.)
