One of the most beautiful, fascinating and surprizing cities in the world, Rome is a must see for anybody in Italy or Europe. Surpizing because everywhere you turn another fountain, sculpture, column etc etc will be there. The atmosphere is classy, the locals are classy, the shopping is classy. We went in early December and I would thoroughly recommend this as a good time to go, mild weather perfect for walking, less tourists than in the summer, and we didn't encounter any beggars and other undesirables, as presumably it is not the best season for them. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. |
