I was born in England, grew up in Australia but have lived in England for the last 30 years. I travel whenever possible, and enjoy cities, beaches, temples...you name it. My most favourite country is Japan, I have been three times, travelling entirely on my own and staying in ryokan, minshuku and shabby business hotels along the way. It is expensive, but worth every penny to me!

My other favourite country is Italy, which is lucky as it's much easier to get to! Unfortunately, it's also very expensive, so I have to ration my visits.....
For me, research is everything. Don't just turn up in a country and then moan if it's not what you wanted or expected, read up on it.
