You must go to the Phuket Zoo, the baby tigers and full grown ones are the best, you can have your photo taken with them for 150 bartt. Sit and hold a baby tiger is a very exciting thing to do and after the little one if your game you can sit with Dad and pat him while having your photo taken. Also while your there at the Zoo check out the Monkey show, there so funny, there's croc's and ellephants birds all types of fish and animals everywhere. Very nice day

Well this was a great day out, it was part of a three in one tour that included an elephant ride through the jungle, a long tail boat trip, canoeing the caves and a trip to James Bond Island, and lunch was included as weill. The bus picks you up from your hotel and then drive's you to the elephant camp for a show of baby elephants, which is great fun, you then go for an elephant ride through the jungle up a small stream. After this you are then drivin to a small harbour where you will then take a large long tail boat to the Phang Nga Bay Caves, once there you are put into a canoe for about an hour os paddle through the caves, this was great, loads to see. After the canoe trip you then take the long tail boat to the Muslim floating village for a wonferfull lunch, and some shopping. After a great lunch you then hope on board the long tail boat again for the trip to James Bond Island, here you can shop and take a nice walk around this small island and take some photos in front of the famous rock. Then its back into the long tail boat for the trip back to the harbour where you then travel back to your hotel. This was a great day out and great value for money, you can book thi tour at any of the travel booths around the island.

We traveled to Phi Phi Island again June 2005, six months after the Tsunami and found that the local people have done a wonderfull job of rebuilding there small island, there is still signs of damage but its well on its way to being back to normal. Everything was working and the people happy, you can still go diving, laying on the pure white sandy beach or enjoy a fantastic meal. Accomodation is plentyfull and cheap, so when your next in Patong stay a night or two in Phi Phi Island and help them recover quicker, every dollar helps them no matter how small.

Things To Do: Motor Bike Hire

One realy cool thing to do is to hire a 750 Honda Shadow, a poor mans Harley Davidson. It cost's about 500 batt per 24 hr, you will need to leave your passport with the vendor but thats ok, we did it severeal times and had no proplems at all. After you have selected your bike check it all over for marks etc, the bracks and tyres, just be aware that there is no insurance when renting a motor bike so be carefull, if you damage the bike in any way you will have to pay all damage's. Other then that its a great way to see the island and what it has to offer. Be early to get the right bike for you they are all diffrent in design and color. Now that you have your chosen bike hit the raod and see the island and it beach's, stop for lunch at one of themany resturants found around the island, travel into Phuket town or up into the mountians there so much to see and do, GO for it

One fun way to spend a few hours is to take a elelphant ride through the jungle, They are so gentle the way they sway and are so sure footed. You can have your photo taken by hte guide as youe travel down the river or through the jungle, when your back at the camp you amy also buy some Bannanas and feed the elelphants.

Fantasea is a large theme type park with loads of shopping, the biggest resturant in the world, seats three thousand people and the food was the best we had in Phuket, loads of diffrent types meats soups and vegie's as well as a huge selection of sweets. Now comes the best part, the show its self, you are not aloud to take your camera into the show but you can buy a video or dvd of it. The show is based on a true storie from the past in Thailand. On stage there are Elelephants, ducks birds monkeys and of course loads of perfomers. I would say it was one of the best stage show's i have ever seen, at one stage there where up to 12 elephants on stage as well as 40 or performers. Its must see on your trip to Phuket. The magnificent Palace of the Elephants is a state-of-the-art theater with wonderful acoustics and seating for 3,000 people. Fronted by a glorious reconstruction of a Sukhothai-era stone palace, with intriguing elephant statues, the theater puts on a spellbinding show combining culture and illusion that is almost beyond belief.

Walking around the streets I came across a store that sold paintings, after talking with the painter I found that all the paintings are orginal and hand done, in fact if you wanted you could take a photo with you and they will reproduce it on canvas for you for a low cost. He told me it would only take a day or so to do, so next time i go back i'll take a couple of favorite photo's with me and have them done.
