"Phuket Travels May 04, June 0 ..." a Phuket Travel Page by DONBURGESS

We travelled to the island of Phuket on thursday May the 27th 2004, we flew direct from Melbourne, Australia to Phuket island with Thai Airways, flight was good, about 8 hours or so. The in flight food was pretty good but the movies where pretty slack. The flight arrived at 6,30 am, getting through customs etc was pretty quick with no hassles at all, we had pre booked our taxi and it was there and on time.

June 2005 we once again flew from Melbourne, but this time via kula Lumper in Maylaisia, they had the best fares this time, the only down side to this was the 8 hour lay over in KL on the way home, but the flight iself was good, food was good and the lcd screen on our sets made the trip go quicker.
This year we had booked our selfs a 4 bedroom house just of Nanni Road, about a 20 min walk to the beach, the house was wondefull, very large kitchen, dinning and lounge room and all four bedrooms had queen size beds as well as three bath rooms.

We are again off to Patong this coming June2006 and are staying at the Swis Palm Beach Resort, nice spot not far from the beach and good value for your money. We have decided this year to fly with Singapore arilines and spend a couple of nights there on the way home.

Ok small update, had a great time of it here on Patong once again and it looks like i'm going back in November to meet my best mate Simon from the UK for a week of bike riding and scuba diving.
For this trip we are flying with Austrain Airways to Singapore and then with Tiger Airways to Patong, cost includeing tax from Melbourne $930 return.

I have flown with Tiger Airways before and they are very good, there Singapore's low cost airline.

Life is tough but someone has to travel.

I found that the Thai person is really no diffrent to anyone else on the planet, like anywhere there are good and bad, but here on Phuket Island everyone i met where fantastic, nothing seemed to be a proplem for them and most went out of there way to help you.
Like the local fisher man who showed me how to throw his fishing net, he seemed to enjoy showing me the tricks of his trade. So don't be shy get out there and talk with the locals, you may get invited home with them for a meal.
I have made some life long friends here on Patong, thats why we keep going back, we now treat each other as very close friends.

UPDATE:
Have since traveled back to Phi Phi Island after the big wave and I must say that the local people have done a great job of rebuilding the island, it may take a few years to get back to the same as before the wave came but they sure have done a great job, so do your self and the local a favour and do trip to this wonderfull island.

This one really nice spot to go too, all though next time i go, i think i would stay for two nights and days, not just go for a day trip.
Would love to explore the island, its beaches and coves, you can rent a long tail boat there for not much more then burger and you get it all to your self and friends.
