The picture is one I took but if it looks familiar it is because there is a very similar one on the front of a particular version of the Lonely Planet Florida guide.

I enjoyed the retro feel of Miami with its art deco buildings but there is something unreal about the place. I have never seen such a high concentration of beautiful people and displays of wealth (especially the cars). It's all show and quite superficial.
My opinions are probably tainted in that I arrived in Miami after a pretty lousy time touring south Florida and then, once in Miami, was robbed. Oh well ....
