Hotel Midah: Hotel Midah
  • Tip Rating:
  • An average kind of hotel although I did well in getting a junior suite!
Not uncommonly in this price category there are no non-smoking rooms but my room was okay in this respect and didn't smell.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Chinatown. From the main road just outside it is quite easy to get cabs to anywhere in the city.

    I booked through Asia Travel.

Seasons View Hotel: Seasons View Hotel - NOT recommended
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Where do I start? Being on a budget, this place was about the right price and looked fine on the web site. When I arrived I realised that it was located in an area I definitely didn't want to be in. I'd booked four nights but lasted one before checking out. Staying here made me feel quite unwell.

Perhaps I am getting too soft but I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Unique Qualities: Tiny rooms where you have to step over your luggage wherever you put it.
Filth on every switch, fixture and fitting.
No windows so just artificial light and a feeling of complete sensory deprivation.
The sound of cheap sex from the room next door at all hours of the night.

    Hotel Nova: Hotel Nova
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • After my unfortunate experience at the Seasons View I needed to get out quickly. The Nova was the first alternative I found and it saved my sanity. It is in the same Jalan Alor area but it is fairly new and fairly clean. Being a highrise hotel, the rooms on higher floors escape the noise and craziness of the streets down below.

Unique Qualities: The rooms are a decent size and the reasonably clean, as is the bathroom. Not bad at all and reasonably priced.

It's true everyone want to see the Petronas Twin Tower. On my flight back from Netherland this Swedish lady sitting next to me who is on a stopover flight was so excited to see it too. :-) Great page.

useful review on Master Tan and Wong! name changed, address is same, service is just as good as described... must visit rather than the other "foot rubbing" places

Hmm ... I have these friends from Liverpool and London keep on coming back every year for shopping. Most of them are in their 20s. I guess you must have missed something on your trip. Anyway, a great review!!

Mosques and minarets are usually enough to divert me, but this National Mosque is well, a little below the standard I knew in Turkey.
