"Dynamic Earth" is the name of the facility with the Nickel Mine, as well as an interpretative center where you can learn about the peculiar geology of the Sudbury region. Watch for the signs - it's just off Route 17.

Not for claustrophics! But the underground tour at Dynamic Earth is fascinating, and well worth the admission.

Myself, I'm not the most comfortable person when I'm underground - I have mild claustrophia - but I figured that if little children don't mind, then I shouldn't either.

I was on a guided tour with about 15 other people, ranging in age from 10 to 70. We were all provided with our own miner's helmets, certainly adding to the experience. Inga, our guide, was perfect! Personable, amusing, and informative.
