There's silver in them thar hills! (or there was)

Lusk is sort of "out there." It's in the central part of the eastern edge of Wyoming, about 100 miles east of Casper, and 130 miles north northeast of Cheyenne. It's the seat (population 1378) of Niobrara County, and I stopped here for lunch on my drive from Ft. Collins up to Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota.

Lusk has some nice shops, and a great small pizza parlor which I can strongly recommend to other travellers. I'm not the first VT member to have discovered Lusk, so I am not the only person here who has been charmed by this place.

The Silver Cliff Hotel doesn't look like it has accepted guests for a number of years, but it would make a fun restoration project for the right person!

Lusk has a few imposing brick buildings in its downtown. It's the market center for a wide region that extends into neighboring Nebraska.

I've never heard of this place either, but it does sound like a good place to stop for lunch -- as long as you are careful not to get involved in any hotel restoration projects!
