Getting to Mackinac Island is a Breeze!
Seriously, it's almost always rather windy on the ferry out to the island - and cooler than it is on the mainland. Even if you are just crossing over for a day, you might want to bring a sweatshirt or a sweater for the journey! |

No motor vehicle traffic is allowed on Mackinac. That's zero. None. Nada. Oh, they do have carts on the golf course - but they're not allowed anywhere else. And private jets do take off and land at the airstrip.
It's nice to see bicyclists in command of the road. Notice too that once you get away from the "town" and its fudge shops, most people don't lock their bikes. |

This is a photo of the Round Island Passage Light, built in 1947 to replace the Round Island Lighthouse. It is located just off the south end of Mackinac Island, opposite the beautifully restored brick Round Island Lighthouse. | Nemorino Thu Sep 20, 2007 22:48 UTC

You have never spent a night on the Island, prefer B&Bs to hotels and still waste my time reading your "review". Reviews should be written by someone with actual, real-life experience with that being reviewed. |
