Grand Rapids does have something of a bug problem. My friend Ed was attacked by this enormous stag beetle and had to have head surgery as a result. Fortunately, he's made a good recovery!

Downtown Grand Rapids and the surprisingly wide Grand River, which not far from here does indeed have its own Rapids. In the center city are a number of interesting attractions, particularly the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum and the Van Andel Museum Center.
