"As Hawi Turns. . ." Hawi by yooperprof

Hawi Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 8 photos

"As Hawi Turns" is the name of a cute gift and provision shop on the main drag in Hawi. This is a charming little place, with well-maintained businesses catering to the tourist trade, but it's enough off the beaten path that it doesn't seem like an "exploited" village - and it is still much in touch with its sugar industry roots. You won't find any of the glam resorts nearby, and no big "chains" either.

"It's so different!"

"It's so different!" well describes Hawi, and it's also the name of a pleasant small gallery in the village. Interesting, original artwork here - more than just beach sunsets and velvet paintings of palm trees.

If you are looking for a good local place to dine, check out my restaurant review here as well.

I think the church there is definitely something to visit. It has a very different feeling there. I really enjoyed the welcome small village feel there.
