Jet Set Chet has a quiz for youse guys!
These photos were taken in different airports where I spent time during the last year. Can you tell me where they are?
Airports are certainly representative institutions of our time. Yes, to a certain degree all airports are alike. They serve the same function, require the same facilities, cater to the same needs. At their best, airports provide a sense of comfort, security and speed. At their worst, they are overcrowded, dirty and chaotic. They are an image and emblem of modernity.
Now, it's true that in the last year I only visited airports in the United States and Europe. Maybe if I'd been elsewhere I would have seen some very different airport structures. |
| | Would it help you to know that six of the seven airport photos are located somewhere else here on my VT pages?
I only have 4600 photos here, so it shouldn't take long to go through them! |
Email me your responses.
First person to get all the airports correct will win the GRAND PRIZE of a DELUXE tour of Marquette Michigan, escorted by Yooperprof himself, followed by a pint of Blueberry Beer at my favor local brew-pub.
| | Of course, it might help if you knew exactly where I had been within the last 12 months - that is, from September 2006 to August 2007. Instead, let me just provide a list of some new and updated VT pages that I've completed over the last year! New pages: Hamburg, Frankfurt, Mainz, Lubeck, Tacoma, Red Wing MN, Fort LauderdaleUpdated pages: Copenhagen, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Seattle, Fort Collins CO, La Pointe WI, |
FOUR of the airports are from places with either "new" or "updated" pages.
ONE is nearby another one of the "updated" pages.
TWO are from familiarly busy airports that I am frequently flying through.
| | It might help you also to know that I fly most often on the Northwest/KLM Alliance! |
Oh, I'm in the education biz; really, I've been in school all my life! That's why for me September represents the beginning of a new year! When the students once again throng to campus, and blackboards are once again covered with chalk markings, I always feel that it's a time for new beginnings - and great plans for the subsequent year.
What does 2007-2008 have in store, travelwise?

SteveOSF Tue Apr 22, 2008 22:12 UTC Glad to hear that lawyers have actually done some good in keeping the Barnes collection intact. Hopefully they can win the fight to keep it in place. I wonder what Hughes would think of the Spruce Goose's nesting place. | Dabs Tue Apr 22, 2008 02:01 UTC I did hear one of the aftershocks, the whole front of my house was rattling! Ate at the Gage this weekend, pretty good food even if a bit expensive... | MJB123 Mon Mar 3, 2008 22:45 UTC Hello Chet. Thanks for the VT Meeting invite. My only travel plans this winter are driving to work and back home. With the snow we get that is enough of an adventure--I was recently in Sicily though. | craic Fri Feb 22, 2008 03:46 UTC thanks for visiting three of my two tips - cheers |
