I met a Toronto girl and told her I was from Texas. She automatically said, 'I bet that you're surprised that we all don't live in igloos up here.' That came out of nowhere. I never thought y'all lived in igloos but did think the winters got pretty cold in parts of Canada - and they do. I guess this falls into the category of stereotypes. I'm not sure what my tip is...avoid stereotypes...or enjoy them! Lighten up! I think it's pretty funny that a lot of people from other countries seem to think that Texas is one big desert and everyone living here is a cowboy or gunslinger or oil baron...it's funny.
