Restaurant Name: Westbrook Beach Hotel
At the Westbrook Beach Hotel on the Indian Ocean just north of Durban. It was run by a very nice family and they had a long-time staff of dedicated employees. We stayed 4 nights for $400 Canadian and found it to be a very relaxing base from which to see the surrounding area.
Right on the Indian Ocean - the waves were roaring in constantly and crashing on the shore. We had a ground floor room and it was fantastic to be able to step out onto the lawns and wander down to the small rocky cliff overlooking the sandy beach. Instructions were to keep the TV on at all times so its internal heat would keep the salty air from corroding its circuits!
Favorite Dish: We elected to get the pre-set Dinner menu (a different mixture of dishes each night) because we are not fussy eaters. It was a real pleasure to experience the services of the staff and the attention that they paid to small details. We had some great conversations with them - also enjoyed the resident cat who was on his last legs.
