"An Island of Choices" Île du Havre Aubert by Bwana_Brown

Île du Havre Aubert Travel Guide: 19 reviews and 20 photos

Ile du Havre-Aubert is a pleasant mix of wilderness and hospitality locations - its population of about 2500 people does not result in as much over-crowding as on Ile du Cap-aux-Meules (please check that page for details on how we arrived in the Isles de la Madeleine). We spent one full day leisurely driving around the island, exploring its back-roads, cliffs and dunes. This island also has the nicest historic village of all of the islands - a place in the town of Havre-Aubert called 'The Grave'. We had an added thrill with our success in spotting Minke whales from the southern coast cliffs, not far from the Bassin lighthouse pictured here (built in 1871).

A big hello from les Iles-de-la-Madeleine! We spent the day in Havre Aubert and had lunch at the Cafe de la Grave, it was fantastic :o)

This island must be indeed very enjoyable with sand dunes, wild beaches and magnificent scenery! Cap Noir looks quite impressive, especially the reclusive artist's house ;) I'd enjoy sitting out on a balcony overlooking the ocean and sipping the wine :)

A beautiful piece of coastline and some geat photos and tips of it! I hate mosquitos, so perhaps I may choose to avoid all but the beaches here, but otherwise it looks very beautiful!

This does indeed look like a great place for getting away from it all. I've never stayed in a hotel room with hardwood floors, what a nice treat!
