| Big Horn Sheep & Rocky Mts. |
My wife and I had a "quick" trip to Alberta as part of a Western Canada excursion to attend the graduation of one of our sons-in-law from his Royal Canadian Mounted Police training in Saskatchewan. Consequently, we did a lot of driving from Calgary to Edmonton and back to squeeze in as much as we could in about 4 days. Being this close to the Rockies, we naturally had to take the long route between the two cities via Red Deer, Rocky Mountain House and Jasper! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - both the scenery and the hospitality were fantastic! In April, the tourist activity was near zero and we had the whole province to ourselves. The weather also cooperated, to the extent that it was too far gone into drought conditions as the year wore on. Photo of Big Horn Sheep beside the highway in Jasper National Park. |
